Things to consider

No matter what's going on in your life, you always have the right to support from people in your life who you trust and who can help you make decisions that are best for you.

If you're thinking about moving out you've probably already thought a little about why you want to move out and where you want to go next.  No matter what's going on in your life, you always have the right to support from people in your life who you trust and who can help you make decisions that are best for you.  We're here in Childline 24 hours a day to talk with you about things, so if you want someone who can listen, feel free to ring us or send us a message.
  • Why do I want to move out?
  • Is there someone I should talk to about why I want to move out?
  • Do you have a safe place to live?
  • Will you live alone or with other people?
  • Do you have enough money to support yourself? (think about working out a budget for how much you spend each week on food, clothes, laundry, gas, electricity, etc)
  • Who will help you move?
  • Will you keep going to school or will you find a job?
  • How will you get to and from school or your job?
