First of all, we want to say that we’re really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough time. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and talk about what’s happening, and we want you to know that you’re incredibly brave for doing so. No one deserves to be treated the way you’re being treated, especially by someone who is supposed to love and protect you.

 

It’s not easy to deal with a situation like this, but please know that you are not alone. No matter how isolated or scared you may feel, there are people who care about you and want to help. If you ever feel unsafe at home, it’s important to reach out for help immediately. You can contact the emergency services at 999 or 112. They are there to protect you and ensure your safety. Have you spoken to an adult you trust about what is going on at home? This adult could be your other parent, a teacher, a friend’s parent. It is the responsibility of the adults in our lives to make sure we are living in a safe home, and if we are not, then those adults need to talk to the Gardaí or Túsla, the Child and Family Agency in Ireland. Both those organisations roles are to keep children and young people safe.

 

In addition, there are organisations like Childline that are dedicated to supporting young people like you. The Childline team is available 24 hours a day, every day, to listen to you, support you, and explore your options with you.
