Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat.

You are asking Childline that if you told someone that you are being physically abused by your Dad would he go to prison.

Childline would not be able to answer that question exactly for you because if you told someone we could not say for sure what would happen.

No-one has the right to physically abuse you and if this is what your dad is doing to you it is wrong, Your dad has a responsibility to keep you safe. It is also not your fault.

What would be important is that you tell someone what is going on. Do you have a trusted adult that you could talk to, say, a Teacher, Relative, Friend? Someone that could give you advice and tell you what to do?

You have the right to be safe and it does not sound like you are safe if that is what is happening.
