What is live chat

Answer

Hi, welcome to Ask Alex.

Live Chat is a way of speaking to us here at Childline using webchat instead of a voice call.

Childline is a 24-hour national listening service for all children and young people (up to and including the age of 18) in Ireland.  The Childline team are always here to listen and can talk with you about your thoughts and feelings, or whatever you wish to talk about. Childline is always open (24/7), and there is always somebody here to talk to you.

We are here to listen on the phone at 1800 66 66 66 or if you’d prefer chatting to us via webchat, we are available on the online live web chat at www.childline.ie

To start using Live Chat, go to the Childline website at www.childline.ie,  click on the orange Live Chat button and send a ‘hi’ or a ‘hello’ and one of our facilitators will reply to you as soon as possible, or within a couple of minutes if the service is very busy.

All Childline services are free and confidential. You never have to feel alone, Childline is always here for you, whether you would like to talk about something big or something small, or even just about how your day is going.

We hope this explains what Live Chat is.  Take care for now. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
