Answer

Hello there, thanks for your question!

Firstly, let us say that it takes courage to reach out and talk about something as personal as this. We want you to know that you’re not alone in feeling this way, and we’re here to listen and support you through whatever you’re going through.

Feeling conflicted about your body and your eating habits can be really tough, especially when you’re receiving mixed messages from others. Whether someone says you’re “fat” or “skinny,” what matters most is how you feel about yourself. Your worth isn’t determined by your size or shape.

Changing eating habits can be challenging, but it’s absolutely possible. It’s important to approach it with kindness and patience towards yourself. Instead of focusing on restricting food, try to focus on nourishing your body with foods that make you feel good and energised. Remember that it’s ok to enjoy treats in moderation too.

If you ever feel overwhelmed or unsafe, please know that there are people who can help you. If you’re in immediate danger or need urgent assistance, don’t hesitate to contact emergency services at 999 or 112. Your safety is the top priority.

For support specifically related to eating disorders, organisations like BodyWhys.ie offer valuable resources and a supportive community. You can reach out to them for guidance and understanding.

Remember, you are never alone in this journey. There are people who care about you and want to see you thrive. Take things one step at a time, and don’t hesitate to reach out for support whenever you need it.

Look after yourself, and remember we are here for you any time, for any reason,
Alex
