Feeling like your family hates you can be incredibly painful and isolating. We want you to know that it’s not your fault, and you deserve to feel safe and loved. At 14, legally, you’re not able to move out without your parents’ consent. The legal age for leaving home in Ireland is 16 with parental consent. However, there are organisations like Túsla (the child and family agency in Ireland) that can offer support and guidance in difficult family situations. They can provide resources and help you explore your options. It’s also essential to talk to a trusted adult about what you’re going through. This could be a teacher, a school counsellor, a relative, or a family friend. Sometimes, having someone to confide in can make a big difference and help you find solutions to your problems.
