You are asking if Childline is able to track your location/IP address/number if you give us details about your identity.   

Thanks for reaching out and highlighting this question. Childline takes your safety and security very seriously and we’d be happy to tell you more about how this works. 

To answer your question, we have no way of tracing your location/IP address or your phone number, even if you tell us who you are. We would only have access to information you give us yourself on a call/text/webchat. All of these services are completely private and safe.  

We also have a webpage that discusses our policy on Privacy. It’s written in a way that is easy to understand. On our website, www.childline.ie, you are welcome to look at the online safety section too. This will go through with you what happens with your communication, and the circumstances under which we would ask you for any personal information.
