Answer

Hey there! Thanks for your question.

You are looking to spend more time with your dad, and he is saying that he spends all day with you. It sounds like you’re going through a challenging situation, and we want you to know that your feelings are valid. It can be tough when you reach out to someone important to you, like your dad, and feel like you’re not getting the response you hoped for. It’s important to acknowledge and understand your emotions in this moment.

Firstly, try expressing your feelings to your dad in a calm and honest way. Let him know that you value the time you spend together but feel like there might be room for a bit more quality time. Use “I” statements to avoid sounding annoyed, like saying “I’d really appreciate more one-on-one time because it means a lot to me.”

Additionally, consider finding activities you both enjoy and suggesting them to your dad. This can create a positive and shared experience, reinforcing the bond between you two. Remember, open communication is key in any relationship, and expressing your needs and feelings could help your dad in understanding you better.

If things don’t improve right away, don’t be discouraged. Building stronger connections takes time. Stay patient, keep the lines of communication open, and continue finding ways to share meaningful moments together. You’re not alone, and we are here to support you as you go through this.
