Welcome to Ask Pat,

If you would like to use the live message service to chat to Childline, then you need to be logged into www.childline.ie . Click on the register or login at the top right hand side of the screen or you can click on the Live Message icon to go straight into the log in page either. This may be an icon on the page or in a tab at the bottom, depending on the device that you are using.

You will be brought to a page with a username and password. If you have an account already then you can type in your details and you can then click submit. If you have not been through before then you can register to set up an account, putting in your date of birth, choosing a username and a password.

A tab should appear to begin a chat and if you click on the tab then you are welcome to chat to us, give feedback or find out more information.
