How do I stop my parents from hitting me?
how do i get my parents stop hittingme
Hi there, and welcome to Ask Alex.
You have been very brave to get in touch and ask your question, we know it’s not always easy to do this.
From what you have said there it sounds like you are being hit by your parents. We would be extremely concerned to hear that this is happening. It’s important that you know you have the right to feel safe, free from danger and happy in your home and no one has the right to hurt you in any way. You also have the right to seek support from the Gardai or Tusla Child and Family services. Tusla can be contacted via their website: https://www.tusla.ie/.
You have the right to get support for what is happening in your home. Is this something that you have mentioned to any trusted adult in your life? It’s important to find an adult you trust and feel safe talking to. This person may be an aunt/uncle, a family friend, a teacher, a coach, a school counsellor, a doctor or nurse. If you can’t find anyone in your life who you are comfortable talking to, contact Childline and we will listen to you and give you support.
If ever you are in immediate danger, you can contact the emergency services on 112 or 999 for free on any mobile phone or landline.
Childline is also always there for you. If you ever you wanted to talk to about anything that’s going on for you, we have an online chat service (https://www.childline.ie/) and a text service (send a text to 50101), where there will always be someone to listen to you. It is a non-judgmental, safe space where you can talk about anything that’s on your mind or that’s going on for you. All these services are available 24/7 every day of the year.
Thanks again for reaching out to us today.
