Feeling unmotivated can be difficult to cope with and it can be hard to find ways to get motivated again. You’ve taken a positive step by reaching out to someone to express how you’re feeling. You are not alone in this, many young people go through feeling unmotivated at times for example with school, hobbies or even taking care of themselves. There are things you can do to try and improve how you’re feeling and there are also services you can access out there that might be worth considering.

Sometimes making simple changes to our daily routine can make a huge difference to how we’re feeling, especially when it comes to staying motivated. Getting enough sleep, eating healthily, making time for exercise, rest and fun are a few ways to keep yourself feeling happy and well both mentally and physically. Movement is a great way to start feeling more motivated, even if it’s just something simple like going to the kitchen for a drink to get up and moving, trying a popular dance, shaking out your limbs, going for a walk, trying to maintain a tidy, clean space or playing upbeat music can help with motivation. It can be helpful to come up with a schedule, but try to keep it realistic and achievable.

Have you considered talking to someone close to you in your life that you could ask for help? When we express how we’re feeling to others it can help us to feel better and doing so might inspire ideas and solutions on how to try and make things better.
