Hairy legs

Your Question

Does hair on leg means height will not increase

Answer

Hey there, thanks for your question!

You are wondering if having hair on your legs will stop you from growing taller.

It’s completely understandable to have questions about your body, especially during your teenage years when everything seems to be changing so fast. First off, we want to say that there’s no need to worry. Having hair on your legs doesn’t have any connection to your height.

Hair growth, including on your legs, is a natural part of puberty, which is when your body goes through lots of changes as you transition from being a kid to becoming an adult. This article explains the changes our bodies go through during puberty www.childline.ie/what-exactly-happens-to-your-body-and-mind-during-puberty/.

Height is determined by a combination of factors, including genetics and nutrition, not whether or not you have hair on your legs. So, whether you have hairy legs or not, it won’t affect how tall you’ll grow to be. Each person’s body develops at its own pace and in its own unique way.

If you’re feeling unsure or have more questions about your body or anything else, remember that there are always people you can reach out to for support. You’re not alone in this journey, and it’s ok to talk about your concerns. Do you have somebody to talk to? A friend or trusted adult?

If you ever feel like you can’t talk to someone you know just yet, you can always reach out to the Childline Team. We’re available 24/7, here to listen to you without judgment, in confidence. You can contact us by phone at 1800 66 66 66 or message us on our website at www.Childline.ie.

Remember, you’re never alone, and there are people who care about you and want to help you through whatever you’re going through.

Look after yourself, and know we are always here for you,
Alex
