In Ireland, it’s against the law for an adult to hit a child. You have the right to feel safe and loved at home, and your parents should be there to support you, not harm you.

If you’re ever feeling unsafe at home, it’s crucial to contact emergency services at 999 or 112. There are people who can help right away if you are in immediate danger. Additionally, Túsla, The Child and Family Agency in Ireland, is there to ensure that all young people live in a safe environment. They have social workers whose job is to make sure you are protected. You might need the support of another adult to access this help, but it’s important to reach out.
