We are really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a difficult time with your dad. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help, and we want you to know that you are incredibly brave and that you’re not alone. It’s never  okay for anyone to hurt you physically or emotionally or curse at you. You have the right to be safe and feel respected at home. 

It’s very important to prioritise your safety, so if you ever feel in immediate danger, don’t hesitate to call the Gardaí at  999  or  112. They are there to help in emergencies and to make sure you are living in a safe environment. You also have the right to report this to Túsla, The Child and Family Agency in Ireland. Túsla are responsible for making sure every young person in Ireland has a safe place to live and you have the right to live in a home where you are not afraid and where you feel safe. 

It’s also important to talk to someone you trust about what’s happening – whether it’s a teacher, a friend, or another family member. You don’t have to go through this alone. They can offer support and help you explore your options or help you report this to the right people.
