Can you support a young person in southern Ireland?

Answer

Hi there,

You’re very welcome to Ask Alex, thank you for your question.

You are wondering can Childline support a young person in southern Ireland. We support young people all over Ireland. There are several Childline units in Ireland, however young people in all counties can contact the service.

We’re here to listen to you without judgement. If you’d like to chat about what’s on your mind you can reach out to us for free at any time, day or night. We have a webchat service which can be accessed on our website: www.childline.ie. We also have a text service which you can contact by texting 50101. If you’d prefer to talk out loud, our 24-hour freephone line can be reached by calling 1800 66 66 66.

We would also like to suggest you have a look at our website and check out the other support services we offer: https://www.ispcc.ie/our-services/. In addition, we offer the Space From Anxiety programme, an online/digital therapeutic service grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is aimed at 14 – 18-year-old young people who experience anxiety. To learn more about this programme, you can ask a parent/guardian or a counsellor/teacher from your school to send an email to: [email protected]. Remember, to engage in these services, you will need parental consent.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Take care,

Alex
