Answer

Hello, thank you for contacting Ask Pat, you are very welcome,

From what you are saying you want to know is being called names and being shouted out and threatened abuse?  The answer to this is YES.

Childline would be very concerned to hear if you are experiencing this, as no one has the right to do that to you. You have the right to be safe and to be happy and to feel secure wherever you are. You also have the right to get support if you feel that you are being abused.

Is there a trusted adult that you could chat to about what is going on for you? An adult that you feel comfortable talking to. It is important for you to have someone in your life that would help you or at least that you would feel comfortable telling them what is going on for you. There are some articles on the Childline website that you may find helpful www.childline.ie/what-is-abuse/

At Childline we have other services that are available free to you, apart from Ask Pat. Firstly, there is a section on our website where you may find helpful articles about your rights and abuse www.childline.ie/what-is-abuse/  You can contact us by phone at 1800 66 66 66 or our text service at 50101 which are available 24/7. We also have a web chat service that you can access through our website www.childline.ie.  All of our services are confidential and non-judgmental. We would really enjoy having a chat with you to explore how you are feeling and options that you may have.

Thank you so much for reaching out to Ask Pat.

Keep in touch,

Pat
