Am I worthless
Am I worthless?
Hi, welcome to Ask Alex.
Thank you so much for reaching out to us to share what is going on for you, it sounds like you are going through a lot in your thoughts and feelings.
You are asking us if you are worthless. Things must be very difficult for you to think that you may be worthless. We are sorry to hear that you are feeling this way, and we want you to know that we would be concerned to hear that you are questioning if you are worthless.
It is important for your mental health and well-being that you talk about your thoughts and feelings, and what is going on for you. You have the right to seek help and support from professionals, to talk to your GP or a doctor within your local clinic or to reach out to a counsellor. Do you have someone in your life that you feel you could talk to about supporting you around getting this medical help? They could be adults such as a parent, aunt, uncle, teacher, neighbor or school counsellor.
There are organisations that might inform you about mental health difficulties such as www.jigsaw.ie or www.yourmentalhealth.ie. Perhaps, you could look at these websites and they may help you understand what is going on for you or they may offer you a direction in how to avail of other supports.
You do not have to go through this alone. We know it can be difficult to talk to someone about our thoughts and feelings face to face, but we do know talking can help. If you feel you cannot talk to somebody that you know just yet, then Childline is here for you, and we really would love to listen to you.
At Childline we are focused on you and what is important to you. The services are free and available twenty-four/seven. This is a safe space for you to talk and we will never judge anything you say to us but will listen to everything you wish to share. The ways in which you can get in contact Childline are through the telephone service 1800 66 66 66, or by web chat that you access through the website at www.childline.ie. We would love to listen to you and hear more about your thoughts and how you are feeling.
We hope that you find some of the above supports helpful.
Take care of yourself,
