Answer

Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat.

You are telling us that your Mum is threatening to wallop you and to assault you. She also tells you that you do things wrong. You mention that you are afraid of protests on the street, you say you are afraid of the people that have threatened to kill you.

It is understandable that you are feeling very afraid for your life.  No one has the right to make you feel like this. No one has the right to hurt you or threaten you in any way and we would be very concerned that this has happened to you. It is wrong to hurt or threaten a child or young person in any way.

As a child you have the right to be safe and to be happy. It doesn’t sound like you are happy from what you are telling us.  You have the right to be heard which means you have the right to tell someone what is going on in your life.

Childline are here to listen, support and to help you to explore the options that are available to you. We are here 24/7 on our phone line at 1800 66 66 66, on our text service at 50101, and on our live chat at www.childline.ie. All of our services are free, non-judgemental and confidential.

Childline would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to chat a little more about this.

Thank you for contacting Ask Pat, we wish you well.
