Hi there, welcome to Ask Alex, we appreciate you getting in touch and sending us your question. 

There is not specific time or day that Ask Alex questions are answered as our service tries to answer as many questions as possible every day. This service aims to publish answers as quickly as we can and endeavours to give individualised responses based on the concerns or topics each young person mentions in their question. As we try to deal with each question individually and give a personalised answer based on each question, this can take some time. Due to each question being carefully answered, we may not get to a specific question immediately, it can take a little time and we encourage young people to engage with our Ask Alex page on www.childline.ie so they can see when their question has been answered. It’s important to know that Alex does not answer all questions and if your question hasn’t been responded to, this may be because a very similar question and answer has been posted already. You can scroll through the topics to search for a similar question and response. 

As the Ask Alex service is not intended as an instant messaging service with an immediate response, we do have alternative services available for those times when you may need a quicker response to a question or when you may simply need to have a chat or talk something through. For those times we have a range of services available to all children and young people aged 18 and under, those services are as follows: you can call Childline on 1800 66 66 66, contact us by text on 50101, or through our webchat at https://www.childline.ie/. The Childline team is there to listen 24 hours a day, every day all through the year. Our services are completely free, confidential, and non-judgemental.
