Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Alex. You have been very brave expressing how you are feeling and reaching out to ask why you are feeling so lonely.  

Ask Alex cannot say for sure why you are feeling so lonely however, it might be the case that you don’t have a lot of people in your life. Do you have any close friends you could talk to when you are feeling so lonely? How about your family, are you close with your parents or siblings?  

We are sorry to hear that you are feeling lonely, and we are wondering if you have felt like this for long? Sometimes we feel lonely even when we have people around us due to a disconnect between ourselves and those in our lives. Is this something that you feel applies to you? If so, it might be helpful for you to consider who you are, who you would like to be and think about how you could reach out and connect with like-minded people.  

It is important to know that you are not alone, Childline is always there to chat and listen and to help you think about who is in your life and who you would like to be in your life.
