Thank you for contacting Ask Alex. It must have been really frustrating for you when you reached out to us through our Childline web chat service, and you did not get through to us to have your chat. We are very sorry.

 

Childline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even on Christmas Day. Sometimes we can get very busy, which may require you to wait until someone is available. We understand that waiting isn’t fun, and we do our very best to try and answer as quickly as possible..

 

You can also reach Childline for free anytime you need us at 1800 66 66 66. If, however, you are in danger and need immediate help, such as if someone is hurting you, you should call the Gardaí at 999 or 112. This is an emergency service, and they will answer right away.

 

Once again, we are deeply sorry that you had this experience, and please know that we are here for you if you need someone to talk to.
