Remember, it is never okay for someone to touch you without your permission, regardless of whether you are of legal age or not. You have the right to feel protected and safe.

 

Have you considered disclosing this to a trusted adult in your life? This could be a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, coach, or counsellor. They will be able to guide you on how to report such incidents and support you through this.

 

If this incident is affecting you negatively in any way, it is important that you do speak to somebody about how you are feeling. Self-care is beneficial too. You could try mindfulness or relaxation exercises, or journaling. You would have the right to report the incident to the Gardaí. You may need the support of an adult if you choose to go down that route.
