Answer

Hello, you are very welcome to Ask Pat.

It sounds like someone you know is going through some mental health issues and that they will not get help. It is coming across that you are very concerned for this person.

Mental health is individual to everyone. There are some websites that you may find helpful. www.yourmentalhealth.ie and www.jigsaw.ie are just two. They will give you advice and support for you and the person who you are worried about. Both you and the person have the right to get help and support during this difficult time.

If you would like to reach out further to chat with us some more about what is going on, we can be contacted a few ways.  Our free telephone number is 1800 66 66 66 and our free text number is 50101. Web chat is available as well through our website www.childline.ie  At Childline, your safety and privacy are important to us, so we do not trace phone numbers or IP addresses. We are open 24 hours a day, every day. There will always be somebody here to talk to you or the person you are worried about if they are 18 years or under. You can also chat with us about anything else that is going on for you, you do not have to have a problem to get in touch with us.

Please remember, that you have the right to get support for everything that you are going through. You do not have to go through this on your own.

Take care of you and be safe,

Pat
