She hid her pregnancy

Your Question

If I sister hid her pregnancy and is 15 and he 18 what the law she has adhd

Hello, thank you for getting in touch with us at Ask Alex.

In Ireland, the legal age of consent is 17-years-old. This means that any sexual activity with a person under the age of 17 is considered illegal.  Additionally, it is against the law for an adult to engage in any sexual activity with a minor under the age of 17. The law aims to protect minors from exploitation and abuse by adults.

If your sister, who is 15 years old, is pregnant and the father is 18 years old, this could raise legal concerns. In Ireland, if a person engages in sexual activity with a minor under the age of 17, it is considered a criminal offense. The law is in place to safeguard minors and ensure that the are not taken advantage of by adults.

It is important to discuss that your sister has ADHD. Individuals with ADHD may face additional challenges in understanding social boundaries and making sound judgments.  It’s important to provide her with appropriate support and guidance tailored towards her specific needs.

Your sister may be feeling overwhelmed, scared or confused about her pregnancy and the legal implications, therefore its important to create a safe space for her to express her feelings and concerns without judgment.

Encourage open communication with your sister and parents and offer emotional support throughout this challenging time. Guiding her towards mental health resources to navigate this situation is so important.
