Answer

Hi, you are very welcome. Thank you for contacting Ask Pat.

It sounds like you are feeling very low when you ask us here at Ask Pat to send someone to kill you.

We are very concerned to hear that you want to die. You have the right to be alive and you have the right to feel safe and happy. You have the right to seek help and support about how you are feeling and the thoughts you are experiencing. Have you spoken to your family about how you are feeling suicidal? If you feel that you cannot talk to anyone in your family, do you have another adult in your life that you trust and can talk to? This adult can be an aunt, uncle, teacher, or a school counsellor. It is your parents and other adults around you responsibilities to make sure you get the help and supports you need and deserve. You also have a right to professional help, like talking to your doctor or to a counsellor, to share your feelings and thoughts about wanting to die. You have the right to be listened to and to be heard. It is important for your own mental well-being that you get this help and support, to find out why it is that you want somebody to kill you.

Here are some websites that might be of help to you www.pieta.ie; www.jigsaw.ie; www.yourmentalhealth.ie. These organisations support young people who are going through what you are going through right now. They may help you understand what is going on for you or they can offer you a direction in how to avail of other supports. The Childline website has some information too which you may like to look at www.childline.ie/how-i-feel /

You are very welcome to talk to the Childline Team by phone on 1800 666 666, by text at 50101 or through web chat on www.childline.ie. Childline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our services are free, non-judgmental and confidential. Childline is here for you whenever you would like to talk or chat, and we really would love to listen to you. Childline offers you the space to talk about whatever you choose. You never need to have a problem to get in touch with us, but we are here for you then too. We will explore what options are available to you, and you can come back to us as many times as you feel you need to.

You are not alone, we in Childline are always here to listen and we would love to talk or chat to you about what is going on for you.

Take care of yourself,

Pat
