Answer

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Ask Pat and telling us how you are feeling.

We are sorry to hear that you are feeling upset about what happened to you in school. You say that you did something stupid, and you got suspended for it, and your school think you need help with anger issues, however you feel you do not need any help with your anger.

It sounds like you feel you have been treated unfairly for what happened and now you are overthinking things, believing there is something wrong with you. You have a right to feel happy and safe in school, have you been able to talk to a trusted adult in your life about what is going on for you right now?

You have been very brave sharing your feelings and thoughts, and you have taken the right steps in reaching out and seeking help.

You can contact Childline if you would like to talk more about what is going on for you by calling Childline 1800 666 666 or Text 50101 or chat online by visiting www.childline.ie. We would be delighted to hear from you.

Childline is a free, confidential service available to all young people under 18 years of age, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Wishing you the very best, and thanks again for sharing your feelings with us. Take good care of yourself.

Best wishes.

Pat.
