Answer

Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat, and thank you for contacting us. It was very brave of you.

You are asking why you keep having mental breakdowns? Childline are sorry to hear that you keep having mental breakdowns. You have the right to seek medical attention and help and support around what is happening for you.

you would have the right to go and visit your GP if you have not allready done so, he may be able to refer you on to the relevant services that would help you. There is help and support available for people going through situations like yours, you may find information that is helpful on the HSE website at www. yourmentalhealth.ie. Alternatively, on the Childline website we have some very useful tips in the INFO and ADVICE SECTION that may be of use to you.

Childline are here to listen, support and help you to explore the options that are available to you so perhaps it might help you a little to contact us on our confidential phoneline at 1800 666 666, this is a non-judgmental freephone service, and we would be more than happy to chat with you a little more about how you are doing.

You have the right to be safe and to be happy, Childline would be very concerned that you keep having mental breakdowns so please feel free to contact us.

We wish you well.

Take care

Pat
