Answer

Hi, you are very welcome to Ask Pat and thank you for your question.

You have seen a picture of a dead body and now you want to get that picture of a dead body out of your head. It must have been frightening for you to see that and it is understandable that you want to get the picture out of your head.

Sometimes talking about things with a trusted adult, for example, a parent/carer, aunt/uncle or teacher can help to ease our concerns. Here at Childline we believe that talking makes us stronger!

However, you may prefer to speak with someone you do not know, Childline are here to listen. The services are free and confidential and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We at Childline really value your feelings and thoughts.

You can find some great information on some mindfulness techniques that might help you with your thoughts and erasing that picture in your mind. Check out this website here: https://spunout.ie/search/results?q=mindfulness There are also some great articles on the Childline website here: https://www.childline.ie/how-i-feel/

It can be difficult reaching out and asking for help, but you were brave in doing that today. We hope you find some of this information helpful.
