Hey there, welcome to Ask Alex,
First off, we just want to say that we’re really glad you reached out. It takes a lot of courage to open up about something so personal, and it shows strength to seek help when you’re struggling. So, welcome, and know that you’re not alone in this.
We can only imagine how tough it must be to hide those scars and carry that burden all by yourself. It’s completely understandable that it’s getting harder to keep them hidden, especially as the weather changes and wearing long sleeves becomes less practical. It sounds like you’ve been dealing with this for a few months now, and that can feel like an eternity when you’re going through something difficult.
But we want you to know that there are people who can help you through this. You don’t have to carry this weight on your own. Organizations like Pieta.ie offer support specifically for people struggling with self-harm, and they have trained professionals who can provide guidance and understanding. Here is an article from the Childline website you may find helpful www.childline.ie/self-harm/.
