Teachers

Teachers usually want to bring out the best in us and it can be helpful to have a good student / teacher relationship. On the other hand, you might find you cannot get on with your teacher. It’s normal to find you don’t get on as well with one person as you do with some others.

You might be feeling a lot of different things and it’s ok if you’re not exactly sure how you’re feeling or what to do.

However, if something is happening and your teacher is hurting you it can be really upsetting and confusing. You might be feeling a lot of different things and it’s ok if you’re not exactly sure how you’re feeling or what to do. A teacher (or any adult in your life) has no right to hurt you in any way.

If you feel that your teacher is hurting you, in a physical or emotional way, then you have the right to tell someone you can trust. You have the right to be safe and protected. You might find helpful talking to another teacher, a principal, a school counsellor, a parent, an older sibling or another adult that you trust.  If you’re not sure who to tell or what to say you can always talk to us here in Childline.
