What is abuse

Abuse is any behaviour that harms someone else.  It is when one person tries to control another using fear, violence, or intimidation.

Abuse can happen to anyone – rich or poor, in any type of family, and to people from anywhere in the world. It can happen between parents, between a parent and a child or teenager, between people your own age, between an adult/teacher and a child or teenager, and even between two people dating. Sometimes people are abused by someone they love.
