Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat,
You are telling us that you are afraid that you are depressed. It sounds like you are looking for advice. You are very brave in addressing these feelings that you have, as it is very important that we all look after our mental health.
We would be concerned that you are feeling you might be depressed. You would have the right to get help and support around those feelings. Have you spoken to anybody about how things are for you right now? Sometimes it can be really helpful to open up to somebody we know, and sometimes, we may need to talk to a medical professional like a doctor or a counsellor. What is important is that you know that you have the right to get help.
Here are two websites where you may find some tips, information or guidance www.yourmentalhealth.ie and www.jigsaw.ie These are organisations that are dedicated to aiding young people who may be feeling like you are. You may also find some support on the Childline website here www.childline.ie/how-i-feel/
The Childline services are here to listen, support and help you to explore the options that are available to you, if you feel that you cannot talk to somebody that you know just yet. It sounds like it may be helpful for you to talk further about your feelings. Childline is here for you 24/7 and you are more than welcome to phone us on 1800 666 666. You can also text us on 50101. or contact us online at www.childline.ie for a web chat. All of the services are free and confidential. We do not trace calls or use caller ID or IP addresses.
Thank you for contacting us here at Ask Pat. We wish you well, and hope that you will get in touch with us again through one of our services mentioned above.
