Hello, and welcome to Ask Pat.
Thank you so much for trusting us with your feelings and thoughts. We know it can be difficult, but we also know how important it is for young people to share their problems. Sharing and talking about what is going on for you is a big step forward.
You are saying you have had anxiety for a while now and sometimes you wish you were never born. We are concerned to hear how you are feeling. It is understandable that you are feeling like you don’t know what to do right now, it sounds like you have a lot going on for you. You are being really brave by reaching out and seeking help. We know that sometimes it might be difficult to share how we are feeling with those nearest to us, especially when we feel they don’t understand. Often things may seem even tougher when it feels like no one understands what you are experiencing.
We are sorry you have been feeling this way. You have the right to seek professional help and it is good that you have been going to a therapist for help with your anxiety. This can be a tough thing to do but it is important for your own mental wellbeing that you get the help and support that you deserve. You have the right to support, and to feel safe and be happy.
There are organisations that may help you and offer you support for your anxiety and feelings, www.yourmentalhealth.ie is one of those. You might like to look at their website to gain information about the supports available to you. The Childline website also has some articles which you may like to look at: www.childline.ie/how-i-feel

We can help you explore what options may be available to you.
