I would like some help

Your Question

How do I ask for help?

Answer

Thank you for getting in touch and asking us how you can ask for help. Depending on the kind of help you might need, you can check out the Information and Advice section on our website – www.childline.ie/info-advice/ – where you will find many articles on lots of issues facing young people today that could help you figure out how you might get help.

You can also talk to a trusted adult such as a family member or a teacher and they might help you figure that out the correct help you are looking for.

If you would like to chat to us in Childline, about what’s going on for you, we have a 24/7 confidential listening service where we can listen, support and explore possible options with you.  Our freephone number is 1800 666 666 or you can also go to www.childline.ie where you will be able to access the Live Chat option. Nothing is too small or too big to ask us and we will never judge or tell you what to do, we are here to listen and support you.

If you feel unsafe and need immediate help, you can contact the emergency services on 999 or 112.

We hope you find the above helpful. If you have any other questions you would like us to answer, be sure to get in touch again.

Take care of yourself. We hope to hear from you soon.
