Alex's Answer

I want to go to a private school

Your Question

Hey alex. So basically, I want to get into this school my friend goes to, its a private Christian school. But my dad and I are broke. Like, we’re having to use MY money to buy food. So I don’t think I’m getting in.. But I want to get in to have something to do! Something to take my mind off our situation. I don’t know. I just feel bad and I don’t know why.

Answer

Hi there and welcome to ask Alex,

Thank you so much for getting in touch with what is going on for you at the moment. It sounds like things are quite stressful for you at home as you have described that you and your dad are broke, and you are having to use your money to buy food.

This must be hard for a child or young person to be experiencing financial stress and impacting your well-being. Have you ever spoken to anyone about this? It is important for you to be able to seek help with this and to be able to enjoy being a child.

It is understandable that you want to go to school with your friend and it is positive that you are hoping to get support for your own education. Is this something you have been able to speak about with your dad? You can try and look at alternative options and also financial aid such as scholarships or grants.

You may wish to speak about this further, Childline is always here for you if you want to talk about this further.
