Answer
Hi there and welcome to Ask Alex.Â
Thanks for reaching out, it sounds like things are tough for you at the moment.  Â
If you are having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, it is very important to speak to someone as soon as possible, as there is support out there for you. If you need immediate help, you can contact the Gardaà at 999 or 112, both these numbers are freephone numbers,Â
You can contact Pieta House (www.pieta.ie/) who offer a free crisis helpline for people with suicide ideation and self-harm on 1800 247 247 or Text HELP to 51444. There is the Samaritans too (www.samaritans.org/ireland/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/) who offer a free phone service on 116 123.Â
Have you been able to speak to an adult you trust about how you are feeling? They would be able to help you get the right support. Your GP also would be aware of local supports and be able to link you in with those too.Â
You can always contact us here at Childline if you would like to chat a bit more around what is happening for you just now. We offer a free, confidential and non-judgemental listening service and would love to chat through this some more with you. You can contact us free by phone on 1800 66 66 66 or on web chat at https://www.childline.ie/ (just click on the orange Live Chat tab)Â
We look forward to chatting with you, please take care of yourselfÂ
