Hello, welcome to Ask Alex
Â
We’re really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a difficult time, and we want to say well done for your bravery in reaching out and sharing your feelings. It takes a lot of courage to express how you’re feeling, especially when facing such distressing situations.
Â
Firstly, please remember that you don’t have to go through this alone. There are people and organisations available to help you. Here are three support services you can reach out to:
Â
1. Childline: You can always contact Childline at any time, 24/7. They offer support to young people like yourself who are dealing with tough situations. You can call them at 1800 66 66 66, and we also have an online chat service on our website www.childline.ie.Â
Â
2. Pieta House: This is an organisation that helps people who are suicidal. They are open 24 hours a day too and their phone number is 1800 247 247 or you can text HELP to 51444. You can find out more information here: www.pieta.ie/
Â
3.An adult you trust: Don’t hesitate to talk to a trusted adult at your school, like a counsellor or a teacher you feel comfortable with. They can offer guidance and support and can help address the bullying issue. It is your school’s responsibility to make sure that all students are safe.
Â
We want to emphasize that you’re not alone in this, and there are people who care about your well-being. Please consider reaching out to one of these support services or talking to a trusted adult about what you’re going through. You deserve help and support during this difficult time. Nobody has the right to bully you. You say it has been going on for a year now; it must have been a tough year for you. It is time to make it stop.
