Your Question

I’ve pushed all my friends away without meaning to and it makes me really upset. I feel like I’ve completely destroyed my life and I can’t fix it. It’s made me really suicidal and I don’t know how to fix it on my own

Answer

Welcome to Ask Pat,

You mention that you are dealing with what you are going through by yourself, you refer to feeling suicidal, and being upset. You say this is because without meaning to you have pushed your friends away. We would be concerned for you that you feel you have to fix this by yourself and you have been very brave in contacting us about what is going on for you.

It sounds like your friendships are very important to you. Often times our friendships can be the most valuable relationships in our lives. You might find some useful information regarding friendships on our website in the ‘Friends’ piece in our ‘Info and Advice’ section.
You also mention feeling suicidal. When a person is feeling suicidal, they might think there is nothing that can help. They might feel alone and scared and can find it hard to know what to do. But, things can get better. It is important to tell someone about how you feel.

Sometimes it can be helpful to talk to a trusted adult such as a family member, teacher, doctor or a school guidance counsellor about what is going on for you. If you don’t feel like there is someone in your life that you can talk to, Childline is always here. It is important to remember that you are not alone in this, Childline are always here for you if you need someone to talk to about what is going on for you. You can talk through your thoughts, feelings and options with Childline.
