Answer

Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat today.

You are telling us that you always feel sad and numb at the same time.

This sounds like you have a lot going on for you and you are very brave to tell us this.

We are really concerned to hear that you are feeling like this. As a child you have the right to be happy. You also have the right to be heard which means you would have the right to talk to somebody. Do you have a trusted adult that you could chat to? This person could be a family member, or a teacher. Someone who you feel comfortable chatting to. You have the right to get help and support around how you are feeling.

There are support services which you may find helpful at this time. www.jigsaw.ie ; www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/4/mental-health-services/camhs/ are 2. You may find some information or advice there. There are also some articles on the Childline website which you may like to read www.childline.ie/how-i-feel/

Childline is here for you too. The Team will listen, support, and help you explore the options that are available to you. We would be more than happy to chat with you if you would like to contact us. Our phone line is open 24/7 at 1800 66 66 66. We also have a texting service at 50101, or you can have a web chat through www.childline.ie . Each of these services are confidential, non-judgmental and free.

Remember, you do not have to be alone at this time. Childline is here for you.

Thank you for contacting us today and we wish you well. Take care of yourself.
