Answer

Hello there, welcome to Ask ALex,

It’s completely natural to have questions and feelings like the ones you’re experiencing, especially at your age. First and foremost, it’s important to acknowledge that your feelings are valid, and you’re not alone in experiencing them. Many people, whether autistic, with ADHD, or not, go through times when they feel empty or question their purpose. Your age is a period of significant growth and self-discovery, and it’s common to have these thoughts and emotions during this time.

It’s worth noting that being autistic or having ADHD can sometimes make you feel different from your peers, but that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. Everyone is unique, and these differences can also be strengths that you’ll come to appreciate as you get older.

To address your concerns and explore your feelings further, you might consider reaching out to a support service like “As I Am” in Ireland. They specialize in providing assistance and guidance to autistic individuals and their families. They can offer valuable insights and support tailored to your specific needs. Here is the link to their website asiam.ie/.

Remember, you are not alone in this journey. There are people and services available to help you with these feelings and discover your sense of purpose. The Childline Team is always here for you, 24 hours a day, every day. You can reach us at 1800 66 66 66 or through Live Chat at www.Childline.ie. We are eager to support you and explore your options with you whenever you’re ready. You are never alone; there are caring individuals waiting to help and support you on your path.

Take care of yourself,
Alex
