We are so sorry to hear that you feel like getting away from your parents. It sounds like this might be a very difficult time for you, and here at Ask Alex, we believe you have the right to be happy and safe in your own home.  

If you do not feel you cannot talk to your parents about this, have you thought about sharing why you’d like to get away from your parents with other trusted adults in your life? The other trusted adult could be a grandparent, aunt/uncle, teacher or someone you feel comfortable talking to about this. 

You can also contact Túsla – the Child and Family Agency. Their job is to make sure all children and young people in Ireland are looked after and safe.
