Help, I'm bored
Hi im bored out of my head
Welcome to Ask Alex,
Thank you for taking the time to share what’s on your mind. It’s very important that we all have space and time to reflect and question different things. Based on the question you’ve sent in, it seems like you’re feeling “bored out of your head.” It’s okay to feel this way sometimes; in fact, it’s important. We need moments of emptiness without constant activities to avoid burnout, exhaustion, or stress.
Having space and time to be bored is beneficial. However, I noticed that you’re experiencing this boredom during the early hours of the morning, which could be affecting your sleep. Do you find yourself bored only when your friends or others are asleep? Is this boredom hindering your ability to sleep well? It might be helpful to identify what’s causing you to be awake at night. Establishing a healthy sleep pattern is crucial for your development. Addressing sleep issues could alleviate boredom by replacing it with sleep.
Consider discussing this with a trusted adult in your life. Together, you might be able to tackle boredom and any sleep-related troubles you’re facing. Openly sharing your thoughts with those close to you will help you develop skills to handle various situations, including feeling extremely bored. If you’d like to talk further, or if you’re not ready to speak to someone you know, you can always reach out to us at Childline. Childline is a non-judgmental and confidential listening service. We understand that our response may have raised more questions than answers, but it’s good to explore a bit further before arriving at a solution. Please consider what we’ve mentioned, and hopefully, the issue of boredom will resolve itself.
