Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Alex.Â

Thank you for contacting us. We understand that it’s not always easy to share how we’re feeling or what’s going on for us, but we also know how important it is to talk about it. Reaching out to Ask Alex is a huge step forward in seeking help.
Â
We’re sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. Can you think of reasons for feeling this way? Try to write down how you are feeling, and if you have good days and bad days. Think about what makes you happy and what makes you feel happy.
Â
When experiencing emotional pain, you may feel there is no other solution, and sometimes we wish for an end to this unbearable pain. We want to assure you that there is always someone who will listen and help. You might be feeling so upset, angry, and in pain that you believe these suicidal feelings will never end. But it’s important to remember that they cannot and will not last. Like all feelings, these ones will pass.
Â
There are steps you can take right now to stop yourself from acting on your suicidal thoughts. Everyone is different, so it’s about finding what works best for you. You could try some sensory coping techniques if you’re thinking of harming yourself. For example, you could:
– Hold an ice cube in your hand until it melts and focus on how cold it feels.
– Tear something up into hundreds of pieces.
– Take a very cold shower or bath.
Â
Always remember that you are not alone, and there is always someone to talk to. There are people who want to help and support you through difficult times. Have you spoken to your parents, teachers, or friends about how you are feeling? They may be easier to talk to.
Â
Reach Out for Support:
Try to talk to someone you trust about what you’re going through, whether it’s a teacher, counsellor, or another family member. They may be able to offer support and guidance.Â
