Thank you for your question, asking if you can contact us here at Ask Alex by email. As this is a confidential service, we do not have access to your IP address, therefore we cannot answer any individual questions nor emails.

However, there are a number of ways that you can contact Childline, by calling us free on 1800 66 66 66, chatting free online at  www.childline.ie, (click on the orange Live Chat button/tab) or asking an anonymous question to Ask Alex whereby the answer is published on this page for everyone to see. 

Our Childline Support service is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so there will always be someone to listen to you any time of the day or night.   Anyone in Ireland up to and including the age of 18 is very welcome to contact us and all our services are confidential, and non-judgemental.

Young people contact Childline for lots of different reasons, they may have something on their mind that they want to chat about, they may be feeling upset over something and not want to chat to someone they know, or they might just want to contact us to say hello and let us know how they are doing.  

The important thing is that you don’t need to have a problem to contact Childline and whatever the reason Childline is there to support you and to listen to you. You’d also be very welcome to have a look at the Childline website which has lots of information on lots of different topics: www.childline.ie.
