Answer

Hi there, you are very welcome to Ask Pat.

You say you feel like you are being bullied in school.

Childline would be very concerned to think that you are being bullied in school. No-one has the right to bully you. You have the right to be happy and safe while you are in school and it doesn’t sound like you feel safe in school at the moment.

In every school it is law that there is an “Anti Bullying Policy” in place, are you aware of this? This is there to keep you safe and to prevent bullying taking place in school. It is also law that this is displayed for all to see and that you are made aware of what steps are taken to prevent bullying. It would be important that you tell someone who you feel comfortable talking to, about what is going on for you in school.

Childline have a 24 hour phone service at 1800 66 66 66 and we are more than happy to chat a little more with you about what is going on if you would like. We are a confidential service and we would never judge you. We are here to listen to and support you and explore with you some options that are available to you.

Also, you might find some useful information on our website at www.childline.ie under the heading “Info and Advice”.

Thank you for contacting us and we wish you well,

Pat
