Dropping Out

Some people decide to stop going to school before they have finished all of the years and before there final exams. This can happen for a number of different reasons. Up until the age of 16 (or after you’ve finished three years of post-primary) you are required to attend school.
After that time you might decide to go onto third-level education, to get a place on a course, to attend a vocational or technical school or college or to enter employment. Whatever you are thinking about doing, there are people there to support you in making that choice. Your secondary school might have a career guidance counselor who can help guide you through your options. A good place to start might be in talking to your parents or an adult that you trust or respect about what you’d like to happen after you leave school.
