Divorce

It’s normal for parents to disagree and argue from time to time. They may disagree about a number of things, big things or even little things. Sometimes parents may be having a hard time together and may be fighting a lot. This doesn’t always mean that they will break up, but if they do decide to separate it sometimes is because they think it would be for the best.

Sometimes parents can be a lot happier and even better parents when they aren’t living together. When parents separate, it’s about their relationship, between the two of them. It is important to remember that this is not your fault and it doesn’t mean that your mother or father don’t love you.

You may feel really angry, frustrated, upset or sad at your parents or at the situation if one of them moves out.  But you could also feel relieved, especially if there has been a lot of tension at home.  It’s ok to be kind of up and down for a while and it’s normal to be a little confused.  It might help to talk it through with your parents or your siblings or with a friend that you trust.
