I Don't Like the Way I Look

A lot of people worry about the way they look and it’s understandable that you might be thinking about your body.  When you start getting older, your body goes through a lot of changes and it can be hard to get used to these changes.

Also you might see a lot of different types of images in magazines and on the telly.  People might seem more beautiful or thinner, or bigger and more muscular than you.  There are a lot of different types of people and types of bodies.

Nearly everyone feels like they don’t like the way they look at some time or another. It is very natural but it can be really upsetting when you’re feeling bad about your body or yourself.  It may help to talk to someone about it and about what you’d like to change, whether it’s the way you think about things or whether you’d like to change your diet or your level of fitness.  An adult you trust might be able to help you figure out how to take steps to help you feel better about the way you look.

Remember also if you need to talk to someone Childline is always here day and night, we never close. We are here to listen to you.
