Am I Gay?

Most teens wonder at some point whether they are gay or bisexual.  This is normal and if you are teenager you are only starting to explore what this means and your feelings may change as time goes on.  You might find yourself attracted to someone of the same sex or having a sexual experience with someone of the same sex.  This doesn’t necessarily mean that you are gay; it can be a natural part of growing up and exploring your own sexuality.

On the other hand, some young people do know that they are gay or bisexual.  It’s ok to be gay or bisexual or straight, and it’s ok not to know yet; the important thing is that you are happy with who you are. Sexuality is different for everyone and there is no right or wrong way to be.

Don’t be afraid to talk to an adult you trust about what you’re going through.  It can seem difficult before you try it, but a lot of young people find it can really help to talk things through.  If you would like to talk to someone you trust you’re welcome to send us a message on the message board or to ring Childline on
