Self-Harm is when someone deliberately hurts or injures themselves. It can take a number of different forms and might include cutting, taking overdoses, punching oneself, pulling out hair, scratching, pinching or tearing at one’s skin.
Talking or reading about self-harm can be really confusing because people often mean different things when they use the words self-harm. If you’re trying to talk about it with someone, it might help to explain the feelings you have and exactly what is happening for you.
